Procurement Officer

Job Description

Hamdard Pakistan is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our team at the Tariq Road location in Karachi. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the full procurement cycle, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships. With at least two years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, the Procurement Officer will focus on contract negotiation, purchase order management, and sourcing methodologies to support the company's operational needs efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to cost-saving strategies, and effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal departments. As this position does not include team management, the focus remains on individual contribution and task execution within the procurement function to meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities
 

• Manage supplier relationships by maintaining regular communication to ensure reliability, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and conditions that align with company policies and objectives.
• Coordinate and oversee the purchase order process from requisition to approval and issuance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procurement guidelines.
• Apply procurement and sourcing best practices to identify suitable suppliers and evaluate alternative sourcing options for cost efficiency and quality improvement.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to recommend strategic adjustments and identify potential risks or opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess procurement needs, prepare specifications, and provide timely solutions that support operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards throughout procurement activities.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in resolving procurement-related issues, including discrepancies, delays, or non-compliance, to maintain smooth business operations.
