Aptech Malir seeks a dedicated Career Counselor with a strong background in career assessment and development to guide individuals in making informed career decisions. The ideal candidate possesses at least two years of relevant experience and holds an ACCP certification. This role involves working directly with clients to evaluate their skills, interests, and career goals using various client assessment tools and motivational interviewing techniques. The Career Counselor plays a vital role in supporting clients through active listening and effective communication to create personalized career development plans that foster growth and success. The Career Counselor does not manage a team but works closely with clients to identify opportunities for career advancement and overcome potential challenges. This role requires proficiency in motivational interviewing and client communication to engage clients effectively and inspire confidence in their career choices. Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct comprehensive career assessments using client assessment tools to evaluate strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
  • Develop customized career development plans tailored to each clients needs and goals.
  • Engage clients using motivational interviewing techniques to explore career options and encourage proactive decision-making.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to support clients in understanding their skill sets and potential career paths.
  • Utilize active listening skills to fully understand client concerns and provide empathetic guidance.
  • Communicate career information clearly and effectively to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Assist clients in identifying educational and training opportunities that align with their career objectives.
  • Offer support in resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies to enhance employability.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical standards.
  • Stay current with labor market trends, career development best practices, and relevant industry standards to provide knowledgeable advice.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions and employers to facilitate client placement and internship opportunities.
  • Provide motivational support to clients facing career setbacks or uncertainties to help them regain confidence.
  • Track and evaluate client progress toward career goals, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure ongoing development.
  • Participate in professional development activities to continuously improve counseling skills and knowledge.
