ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:

ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993 and currently supports communities in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, and Azad Jammu Kashmir. ACTED Pakistan programs range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED's strategy targets vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Assignment:

The Environment Specialist will provide technical support and oversight on environmental management and safeguards requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The role will support environmental screening, planning, and due diligence processes to ensure that project activities comply with applicable environmental policies, regulations, and good international practice. Drawing on experience with development partners, civil society organizations, or similar institutions, the Specialist will contribute to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential environmental risks and impacts associated with project interventions.

The Specialist will facilitate the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of environmental safeguards instruments, including environmental management and monitoring plans, as required. Responsibilities will also include conducting training and capacity-building activities for project teams, implementing partners, and stakeholders to strengthen understanding of environmental safeguards and compliance requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Specialist will support effective monitoring, documentation, and reporting to ensure timely implementation of safeguards measures and high-quality environmental performance.
