Operations Manager

The Operations Manager at Easypaisa Digital Bank plays a crucial role in overseeing and supervising all operational functions within the branch. This position requires ensuring that all activities comply with prudential regulations and other regulatory instructions while maintaining strict control over branch operations. The role involves close attention to the audit, compliance, and self-assessment functions, along with a focus on training staff to uphold operational standards. Effective cash management and safeguarding of security documents are key responsibilities that support the overall efficiency and integrity of the branch's daily operations. This role demands a candidate with strong leadership and communication skills, combined with in-depth knowledge of general banking, audit, compliance, and risk management. The Operations Manager will also coordinate loan disbursals and repayments, work to maintain secure handling of financial instruments, and ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies. Although managing a team is not a responsibility in this position, the role requires ownership of compliance risks and active participation in process improvements. This position is ideal for a candidate with at least three years of relevant experience who excels in maintaining operational excellence in a regulated banking environment.
Responsibilities
 

• Supervise all operational functions of the branch, including preparation and submission of reports and returns.
• Ensure strict compliance with prudential regulations and other regulatory directives applicable to branch operations.
• Own and manage the audit, compliance, and self-assessment activities; train subordinates to effectively conduct audits by internal, external, and regulatory bodies.
• Effectively manage the cash operations area while maintaining security and integrity at all times.
• Implement training programs aimed at enhancing the performance and delivery of operational staff to meet organizational standards.
• Manage loan disbursements ensuring that all required documents are genuine and customers are present during transactions.
• Coordinate loan repayment schedules and ensure repayments are executed promptly on the specified due dates.
• Maintain custody and control over security documents such as drafts, ATM cards, and cheque books, ensuring their usage complies with policy.
• Deduct applicable bonafide taxes, withholding taxes, and other levies; arrange for their timely deposit with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and submit related reports to the head office and regulators.
• Supervise signature capturing processes during account opening; approve signatures or thumb impressions when doubts arise.
• Review and approve the cash limits for tellers to ensure adequate cash availability while minimizing risks.
• Assess daily cash requirements and place timely cash requests to ensure uninterrupted branch operations.
• Advise the Branch Manager regarding excess idle cash and arrange for its secure transfer to minimize risk.
• Continuously evaluate risks associated with the cash area and the overall branch environment; implement necessary precautions to safeguard assets.
• Ensure proper cash loading and serviceability of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) within the branch.
• Manage the preparation and dispatch of customer statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as a backup to the Branch Manager, stepping in as needed to maintain operational continuity.
• Assume accountability for managing inherent compliance risks related to daily activities, overseeing the development and implementation of systems, policies, processes, and procedures that mitigate such risks.
