The Maintenance Lead at is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient operational maintenance delivery across regional service stations. This role emphasizes compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, managing suppliers, and supporting the Customer Value Proposition through meticulous budget control and proactive service delivery management. The Maintenance Lead dedicates a significant portion of their time to validating HSSE delivery, ensuring suppliers adhere to performance expectations, and managing safe work execution procedures. This position requires close collaboration with various teams to maintain asset integrity, forecast financial expenditures accurately, and uphold strict maintenance quality standards. In this role, the Maintenance Lead manages a small team and acts as the focal point for all HSSE-related activities including supplier accreditation, permit management, and promoting a culture of safety and accountability. They conduct asset condition surveys, coordinate with project and supply chain teams, and oversee procurement strategies to optimize supplier performance and cost management. The Maintenance Lead must analyze operational data, manage emergency response efforts, and ensure continuous asset data accuracy using maintenance management systems. Strong communication, organizational skills, and technical knowledge of maintenance within fuel station or petroleum industry contexts are essential for success in this position.


Responsibilities
 

  • Lead and validate Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) compliance across all maintenance activities, ensuring suppliers meet and exceed safety standards.
  • Manage supplier accreditation and re-accreditation processes in line with HSSE requirements to maintain compliance and performance quality.
  • Supervise the Permit to Work (PTW) system, provide necessary training, and ensure suppliers are qualified and certified to perform required tasks safely.
  • Promote and monitor safe work practices, fostering a 'talk not tick' culture that encourages proactive safety communication and engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive asset condition surveys within the area of responsibility to assess maintenance needs, equipment performance, and safety risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and participate in bi-weekly and monthly operational meetings, presenting performance metrics and addressing maintenance challenges.
  • Develop and adhere to the annual maintenance planning cycle, managing budget allocation, spend phasing, and cost monitoring to align with organizational objectives.
  • Analyze and report financial variances between actual and planned spending, adjusting forecasts to reflect the latest operational data effectively.
  • Verify and validate invoices related to maintenance work at service stations to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracted agreements.
  • Evaluate equipment repair or replacement needs and propose cost-effective, efficient solutions to maintain operational uptime and asset longevity.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on completed maintenance and repair work to guarantee compliance with contractual and safety standards.
  • Oversee regular updates of asset data through coordination with relevant teams, maintaining accurate records within asset management and CMMS platforms.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance call-outs and implement 'make-safe' measures to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management Contractors (PMC) to facilitate smooth project execution while minimizing impact on site operations and ensuring timely data integration into maintenance systems.
  • Collaborate with the country Supply Chain Manager to develop and monitor procurement strategies, manage supplier contracts, tendering processes, and contingency plans.
  • Proactively engage with suppliers through regular operational meetings to review performance, manage risk, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Work in partnership with the Centre of Excellence (COE) to share knowledge, implement best practices, and promote continuous learning across the maintenance organization.
  • Lead and manage a maintenance team member, providing guidance and support to ensure successful operational delivery.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, presenting complex maintenance issues clearly and fostering teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards relevant to maintenance and operational safety.
