Fractional CTO/Senior Technical Lead

[Open to candidates based in Asia Pacific; highly prefers South East Asia]

Responsibilities

• Audit the existing codebase and infrastructure, identify risks, and establish proper access controls and IP hygiene
• Take ownership of GitHub repositories and ensure the founder has full visibility and control
• Oversee and review work from the existing outsourced development team
• Challenge technical decisions made by external vendors and provide independent, founder-aligned guidance
• Collaborate with the founder to align technical strategies with business objectives
• Attend weekly syncs with the founder and ad-hoc meetings with the dev team as needed
• Advise on architecture decisions — including AI/LLM tooling (e.g. evaluating newer agent frameworks like Nvidia NeMo or alternatives to LangGraph as they emerge)
• As the role matures, help scope and onboard future development for a customs classification module (Python, FastAPI, AI agents)

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI
• Experience with AI agent architectures and LLM orchestration frameworks (LangGraph or similar)
• MongoDB and cloud-based deployment experience
• Proven experience managing remote or outsourced development teams
• Strong communication skills — able to clearly translate technical issues for a non-technical founder
