Saira Sonia & Co. is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Taxation Executive with at least four years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of income tax, sales tax, and provincial tax laws. This role requires managing comprehensive tax compliance processes, preparing and filing tax returns, conducting tax audits, and interpreting complex tax regulations accurately. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining timely and transparent communication with regulatory authorities and will lead a small team of two professionals, ensuring that all tax matters align with the latest legal and financial standards. The Taxation Executive will be pivotal in safeguarding the company’s adherence to tax obligations by expertly handling tax documentation, audit processes, and regulatory correspondence. This role demands a high level of accuracy, analytical skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. In addition to managing direct compliance tasks, the executive will also play an essential role in representing the organization before tax authorities during hearings and assessments, thereby directly contributing to the company’s financial integrity and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file accurate Income Tax Returns with the Federal Board of Revenue, ensuring compliance with all applicable income tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of Sales Tax Returns with federal and provincial authorities, including the Sindh Revenue Board, adhering strictly to deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all provincial tax matters, particularly Sindh Sales Tax and other relevant levies, ensuring all provincial tax obligations are met.
  • Calculate advance tax, withholding tax, and tax provisions meticulously to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and submit withholding tax statements on a quarterly and annual basis, maintaining strict adherence to government guidelines.
  • Draft comprehensive and precise responses to tax notices and queries issued by tax authorities, facilitating clear and professional communication.
  • Represent the company effectively before tax authorities during hearings, assessments, and other official proceedings to protect the company's interests.
  • Coordinate and liaise with various regulatory bodies for tax registrations, amendments, and ongoing compliance matters, maintaining up-to-date records and registrations.
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation and tax records to support audit and review processes, ensuring transparency and ease of access for internal and external auditors.
  • Supervise and lead a small team of two professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance team productivity and ensure high-quality tax compliance deliverables.
  • Utilize tax filing and GST software efficiently to streamline the tax preparation and filing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, interpreting their impact on company operations and advising senior management accordingly.
  • Collaborate with financial reporting teams to ensure tax implications are reflected accurately in financial statements and reports.
