Our client IO Solutions is looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 IT Engineer in REMOTE

IO Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our managed services team in a remote first capacity. This is a hands-on technical role requiring broad skills across end user support, server and infrastructure management, networking, and Microsoft cloud platforms.

You will work across a small number of managed client environments in the healthcare sector, taking ownership of escalated issues, project delivery, and proactive system management. You will be a key technical resource within our team and expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Azure — Core Focus

 

• Administer Microsoft 365 tenants including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
• Manage Entra ID (Azure AD) including user provisioning, group management, conditional access policies, and MFA
• Support and execute Active Directory migration projects including planning, execution, and post-migration validation
• Manage Intune device enrolment, compliance policies, and configuration profiles
• Maintain security posture across M365 including Defender for Business and Microsoft security baselines
• Administer Microsoft licensing and manage tenant-level settings and service health
  
   

Server & Infrastructure

 

• Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services
• Support Hyper-V virtualisation and RDS/terminal services environments
• Administer backup and recovery platforms (Datto) and respond to backup failures and recovery requests
• Monitor server health and performance via RMM tooling and action alerts proactively
  
   

End User Support

 

• Own and resolve escalated L2/L3 helpdesk tickets requiring senior technical resolution
• Provide remote support to end users across Windows and Microsoft 365 platforms
• Troubleshoot complex authentication, connectivity, and application issues
• Document resolutions and contribute to internal knowledge base
  
   

Required

 

• 5+ years of experience in a managed services or IT support environment
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory — administration, GPO, and migration projects
• Solid Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022) including DNS, DHCP, and file services
• Experience with Intune device management and conditional access
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and M365 security tooling
• Experience supporting SMB environments with 50–150 users
• Strong troubleshooting methodology and ability to work autonomously
• Excellent written and verbal communication — able to explain technical issues to nontechnical users

• Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300 or equivalent)
• Experience with Hyper-V and RDS/FSLogix environments
• FortiGate firewall administration
• Juniper or similar enterprise switching experience
• UniFi wireless infrastructure management
• Zscaler ZIA or cloud-based internet security platforms
• Healthcare sector IT experience — particularly Medical Director or similar clinical PMS
• Datto BCDR or similar backup/DR platform experience
• Auvik or similar network monitoring tooling
