Cashier

House of Flower seeks a detail-oriented and reliable Cashier to join its retail team. The ideal candidate possesses strong customer service skills and is experienced in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems with accuracy and efficiency. While this role does not involve managing a team, the Cashier is a critical part of the retail environment and must collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth store functioning and maintain high standards of customer service at House of Flower.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions while ensuring correct billing and providing accurate change to customers.
• Manage the cash drawer, including counting and balancing cash at the start and end of shifts, ensuring error-free cash closing.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly, answering questions, and resolving any issues or concerns tactfully.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and payment policies to inform customers during checkout.
• Assist in stock replenishment by monitoring inventory levels and updating inventory management software accordingly.
• Support inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies to the relevant team members.
• Use basic math skills to carry out quick and precise calculations required during transactions and invoice handling.
• Prepare daily transaction reports and reconcile discrepancies by cross-verifying receipts, cash counts, and sales data.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for customers.
• Follow company procedures and policies to secure cash handling processes and prevent theft or loss.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain effective communication and ensure a smooth retail operation.
• Use basic computer skills to operate POS data entry, manage receipts, and assist with spreadsheet tasks as needed.
