Job Description

Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Branch Accountant with a minimum of two years of experience in accounting roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in financial reporting, account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and internal controls. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems to accurately maintain the branch's financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The Branch Accountant works independently, managing all branch-level accounting functions without direct team management responsibilities, and plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the branch. The Branch Accountant collaborates closely with various departments to gather financial data, perform rigorous reconciliation of accounts, and generate timely financial reports that inform business decisions. This position demands a proactive professional who is able to identify discrepancies, implement corrective measures, and maintain strong internal control mechanisms. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to streamline accounting processes, support audits, and uphold the integrity of financial information within the branch environment.
Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments to maintain smooth financial operations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company ledgers.
  • Apply strong internal control measures to safeguard company assets and maintain the reliability of financial information.
  • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems proficiently to record transactions, manage budgets, and track financial performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of branch budgets and forecasts, providing relevant financial data and analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explaining accounting procedures, and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Monitor transaction compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to collect necessary financial information and support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of accounting operations.
  • Maintain financial files and documentation to ensure audit readiness and comprehensive record-keeping.
  • Prepare tax filings and ensure adherence to tax regulations applicable to branch operations.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and financial regulations affecting branch accounting practices.
