Job Description

Utilis BPO is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with at least two years of experience to join our healthcare finance team. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in medical billing software and electronic health records to process and manage patient billing information accurately and efficiently. You will ensure the proper coding of medical procedures and services to maximize revenue capture while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong accounts receivable skills and excellent customer service abilities to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. You will work independently to resolve billing discrepancies, process claims, and optimize payment collections without managing a team. Your keen attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication will support smooth billing operations and strong financial performance for Utilis BPO.
Responsibilities
 

• Process and submit accurate medical claims using billing software in compliance with insurance guidelines and healthcare regulations.
• Review and verify medical coding to ensure the correct application of procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking and following up on unpaid or denied claims to achieve timely payment collections.
• Maintain electronic health records by updating patient billing information and documentation accurately and securely.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and investigate rejected or denied claims to minimize revenue loss.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients and insurance companies to address questions and provide clear information regarding billing statements and payments.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy laws and company policies in all billing practices.
• Prepare reports on billing activity, claim status, and collection performance to support management decision-making.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative teams to streamline billing processes and improve overall revenue cycle management.
• Continuously update knowledge of changes in medical billing codes, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.
