Manager Blood Transfusion Services

We are looking for a committed professional with a strong background in Medical Laboratory Technology and Hospital Management to take on the role of Operations Manager for our Blood Bank. The successful candidate will have between 3 to 5 years of experience in blood banking or related operational management roles. This full-time, on-site position demands active involvement in day-to-day activities to ensure the smooth coordination and efficient functioning of the Blood Bank and its associated services.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Consultant Hematologist in preparing detailed monthly reports that reflect the department’s performance and activities. Ensure effective coordination across all working shifts within the Blood Bank, fostering close collaboration with related departments to maintain seamless operations. Oversee both outsourced and in-house services linked to the Blood Bank, including the management of consumables and supplies to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery. Conduct quality control tests on blood products, reagents, and allied materials, compiling and submitting monthly reports on the findings. Monitor daily blood stock reports vigilantly to maintain inventory levels within the required range, preventing shortages or excess stock. Analyze and maintain comprehensive departmental reports each month to support informed management decision-making. Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management to support departmental objectives and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (BS-MLT) or an equivalent qualification is essential. Candidates must also hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Hospital Management or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in blood banking or operational management within a healthcare environment is required to effectively manage the responsibilities of this role.
