This a grant funded contractual position.


Responsibilities:

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of research projects, ensuring adherence to protocols and institutional guidelines. This includes coordinating study requirements with relevant departments, supervising data collection, maintaining study documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves liaising with investigators, and institutional staff, facilitating informed consent processes, and contributing to manuscript and grant writing. The Research Coordinator will support study start-up, implementation, and dissemination of findings while maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards. The research coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Monitor storytelling sessions conducted by LHWs to ensure key health messages are effectively delivered;
  • support implementation strategies at health facilities and in communities;
  • conduct and document implementation fidelity meetings at health facilities;
  • facilitate LHW story telling sessions to reinforce learning and motivation;
  • organize LHW appreciation events to recognize performance;
  • oversee hypertension (HTN) screening activities and ensure proper documentation and referrals;
  • monitor Household Health Education (HHE) sessions conducted by LHWs;
  • coordinate field activities and provide on-site support to facility and community health teams;
  • collect, verify, and submit accurate field data related to CVD interventions;
  • ensure quality monitoring of all CVD-related activities and follow up on gaps;
  • engage communities to promote awareness and participation in CVD prevention activities;
  • maintain coordination with health departments, facility staff, and partners;
  • facilitate effective coordination among LHWs, LHSs, and health facility staff while ensuring smooth;
  • implementation of project activities at the field level;
  • organize and support trainings, mentoring, and refresher sessions to strengthen the technical skills and ensure all logistics arrangement (data collection tools, gadgets, stationary, vehicles, etc.) required for a smooth field operations;
  • develop detailed field operation plans, including timelines, and allocation of available resources;
  • provide guidance and support to field teams to ensure they adhere to study protocol, project timelines and quality standards;
  • conduct regular monitoring and address any issues or challenges faced by field personnel;
  • coordinate and oversee the supplies of necessary materials, and equipment maintenance for field operations;
  • serve as the primary point of contact between field teams and project core team;
  • prepare regular reports on field activities, progress, and challenges;
  • collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of projects;
  • address community concerns and promote positive relationships between the study team and the local population;
  • proficiency in relevant software and tools for data tracking and reporting.

Requirements:

The Incumbent should have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences or a relevant field;
  • experience in community-based projects is preferable;
  • willingness to work in community settings;
  • ability to work collegially with LHWs, health facility staff, community members and study participants;
  • strong ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • good computer literacy;
  • professionalism in handling challenging situations;
  • strong organizational and project management skills;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • capacity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
