Job Description

Heels Shoes invites a motivated and technically adept professional to join its IT department as a Hardware & Network Support Assistant. This role focuses on assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware, performing network configurations, supporting email and operating system setups, and providing general technical support to ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations. The position requires a foundational understanding of both hardware and networking concepts and the ability to handle various IT-related tasks within a collaborative team environment. As this role does not involve direct team management, the candidate will work closely with senior IT staff and users to resolve issues efficiently and contribute to the overall technology infrastructure. The Hardware & Network Support Assistant plays a vital part in maintaining the organization's technology assets including desktops, laptops, printers, and surveillance systems. The candidate will also be responsible for installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of CCTV equipment, performing network cabling and configurations, and supporting system upgrades and preventive maintenance. Building upon a basic to intermediate level of knowledge, this role demands excellent problem-solving capabilities, effective communication skills, and the willingness to learn continuously in a dynamic work setting.
Responsibilities
 

• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues including desktops, laptops, and printers to maintain operational reliability.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and standard software applications for user devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Outlook email settings, including IMAP/POP protocols, backups, and general setup.
• Perform LAN cabling, patching, and support basic network setup to ensure stable and secure connectivity.
• Configure and support network devices such as switches, Wi-Fi routers, and internet connectivity components.
• Provide technical support and assistance to end-users regarding IT-related hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of CCTV surveillance systems including camera relocations and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate IT inventory records and system documentation to support asset management and audits.
• Support IT system upgrades and conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve performance.
• Apply basic knowledge of firewalls and network security principles to help safeguard organizational data and network resources.
• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to ensure efficient resolution of technical problems and implementation of IT initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development to keep up with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
