We are looking for a committed Civil Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control / QA-QC team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing both laboratory and field tests on construction materials such as soil, aggregate, concrete, and cement. This role involves preparing and testing concrete samples, accurately recording and analyzing results, and ensuring all activities comply with industry standards. The position requires hands-on work both on-site and in the laboratory, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the quality assurance of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory and field testing on various construction materials including soil, aggregate, concrete, and cement.
- Prepare and test concrete cubes and cylinders, perform slump tests, and ensure proper curing conditions are maintained.
- Record, analyze, and report test results precisely, adhering to standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and ISO.
- Maintain laboratory equipment by ensuring it is calibrated, clean, and properly serviced to guarantee accurate test results.
- Collect material samples from construction sites, following correct sampling procedures to preserve sample integrity.
- Collaborate closely with site engineers and contractors to ensure timely testing and reporting of results.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or DAE in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of ASTM and BS standards relevant to construction material testing.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and preparing detailed, accurate reports.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping abilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
