Accounts Officer

Job Description

A Moosaajee Sons is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Officer with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the retail fashion industry. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong expertise in managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and performing bank reconciliations effectively. This role requires excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data-entry skills to maintain accuracy across multiple retail systems such as DET, SF, AMS, and Clothiers. The Accounts Officer will take ownership of various accounting processes including vendor and tailor payments, petty cash handling, journal vouchers, and payment portal management. The position demands a candidate with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle financial data responsibly in a fast-paced retail environment. The role does not involve managing a team but requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal controls and auditing standards. Responsibilities
 

• Manage accounts payable and receivable including vendor and tailor payments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Prepare and post journal vouchers and ledger entries to maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify and reconcile bank statements with internal records.
• Handle petty cash management by processing payments, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Manage courier sheets and oversee payment portals including Leopard and PayFast for smooth transaction processing.
• Maintain accurate and detailed accounting data across retail systems such as DET, SF, AMS, and Clothiers.
• Process utility bills and manage order corrections promptly to support financial accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reporting to provide meaningful insights to management.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal controls and auditing procedures to safeguard company assets and data integrity.
• Support periodic audits by providing necessary accounting documentation and explanations as needed.
