Truck Dispatcher (US Freight Market)

As a Truck Dispatcher, your primary goal is simple: eliminate deadhead (empty miles) and maximize the gross revenue of the trucks assigned to you. You will be the main point of contact for our drivers, booking high-paying loads, mapping out efficient routes, and negotiating directly with freight brokers.

Key Responsibilities

• Load Booking & Negotiation: Source profitable loads using major US load boards (DAT, Truckstop) and direct broker relationships. Confidently negotiate the best possible rates per mile.
• Driver Management: Coordinate daily schedules for assigned drivers, ensuring clear communication regarding pickup/delivery numbers, addresses, and special appointments.
• Route Planning & Efficiency: Plan continuous turn-around trips and backhauls to keep trucks moving smoothly while monitoring weather, traffic, and driver hours.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all dispatches comply with FMCSA regulations, specifically driver Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandates.
• Problem Solving: Act as the first line of defence for on-the-road issues, including truck breakdowns, delivery delays, layovers, or detention time negotiation.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Minimum [1-2] years of experience dispatching equipment types like Dry Vans, Reefers, or Flatbeds in the US market.
• US Market Expertise: Strong familiarity with US geography, major freight corridors, and seasonal market rate trends.
• Tech Literacy: Proficiency with DAT Power/One, Truckstop, and standard Fleet Management/TMS software.
• Communication Skills: Flawless English verbal and written communication. You must be assertive yet professional when dealing with both brokers and drivers.
• High Energy: Ability to handle multitasking in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where conditions change minute by minute.
