Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the General Ledger in accordance with established accounting policies. Calculate, reconcile, and monitor invoices for clients across multiple countries and currencies. Reconcile supplier and program transaction values, investigating and resolving discrepancies as necessary. Match transaction values across different systems with bank transactions, coordinating with the Partnership team to address any inconsistencies. Accurately allocate supplier transactions to the appropriate programs, ensuring payments are processed from the correct accounts. Prepare monthly reconciliation error summary reports and collaborate with the Partnership team to resolve issues. Conduct quarterly reconciliations, manage year-end tax slips, and oversee Employer Health Tax (EHT) compliance. Develop and implement process improvements, including preparing documentation for new procedures. Prepare sales tax returns and fulfill corporate reporting requirements. Review monthly revenue and expenses to account for accruals. Maintain accounting and reconciliation software systems. Compile monthly financial statements and accounting schedules, perform bank reconciliations, and conduct financial analysis. Work closely with the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, and other senior management members to support financial operations.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar accounting role is essential. Candidates should be finalists or qualified Professional Accountants, or hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Proficiency in handling multi-currency transactions is required. Advanced skills in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables for data analysis, are necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities, are expected. Experience with QuickBooks is mandatory.
