  • Core Quantity Surveying Skills:
  • Preparation and verification of BOQs and quantity take-offs.
  • Preparation and review of contractor/subcontractor bills and measurement sheets.
  • Cost estimation, rate analysis, and preparation of cost comparisons.
  • Monitoring of project quantities, budgets, variations, and cost impact.
  • Preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and extra items.
  • Familiarity with interim payment certificates (IPCs) and final accounts.
  • Mechanical Background:
  • Basic understanding of mechanical works, steel structures, equipment, piping, fabrication, installation, and associated quantities.
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings and extract quantities.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical material specifications and measurement practices.
  • Civil Experience – Added Advantage:
  • Experience in civil construction works, including foundations, concrete, structural works, excavation, roads, buildings, and related infrastructure.
  • Ability to understand civil drawings and prepare quantity take-offs.


 

Requirement:


 

  • Education: B.E./B.Sc./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Preferably 5–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, Measurement, Billing, and Contract Administration.
  • EPC/Project Experience: Experience in EPC, construction, transmission line, grid station, industrial, infrastructure, or power-sector projects will be preferred.
  • Preferred Candidate: A candidate having Quantity Surveying + Mechanical knowledge, with additional Civil/EPC project experience, should be given preference.
  • Commercial/Contract Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of contracts, BOQ items, payment terms, variations, and claims.
  • Ability to coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • Software Skills:
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • AutoCAD knowledge for quantity take-off and drawing review will be an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong numerical, analytical, and cost-control skills with attention to detail.
  • Reporting: Ability to prepare project-wise quantity, cost, billing, and variation reports for management.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and management.
  • Site Exposure: Willingness to visit project sites and verify physical measurements and quantities where required.
