Deputy Manager – Production (CAM)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead CNC programming, tooling strategy, and production planning for our precision machining operations. The role bridges design intent and shop-floor execution, optimizing CAM programs for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life while supporting daily production targets. Seniority (Deputy Manager vs. Manager) will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, technical depth, and team-handling exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs (CAM software) for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining operations
• Review part drawings/CAD models and translate them into efficient machining strategies
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing to maximize productivity and part quality
• Troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor and provide real-time programming support to operators
• Collaborate with production planning to sequence jobs, estimate cycle times, and meet delivery schedules
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and tool wear
• Maintain and update a library of CAM programs, tool libraries, and process documentation
• Coordinate with quality and R&D teams on new part development and first-article inspections
• Mentor and train junior programmers/operators on CAM best practices
• (For Manager level) Supervise a team of CAM programmers/operators and own CAM department deliverables end-to-end

Requirements:

For Deputy Manager (3–5 years experience):

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical diploma)
• Hands-on CNC programming and CAM software experience (Mastercam, SolidCAM, Creo, or similar)
• Strong understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, multi-axis), GD&T, and tooling selection

For Manager (6–10 years experience):

• All of the above, plus proven experience leading a CAM/programming team
• Track record of process improvement and production planning ownership
• Ability to interface with senior management and cross-functional departments independently

Preferred:

• Experience in a precision machining / tool & die environment
• Exposure to lean manufacturing / continuous improvement practices
