Role Description The Trade Manager role at VMR Lines is a full-time, on-site position based in Karāchi. The Trade Manager will oversee trade lanes and services, manage pricing and commercial strategies, and monitor market trends to optimize cargo flows and profitability. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with local agencies and global partners, developing and implementing trade plans, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring space and equipment utilization targets are met. The role involves preparing performance reports, analyzing shipment data, and making recommendations to improve service offerings and cost efficiency. The Trade Manager will also collaborate closely with operations, sales, and finance teams to support smooth execution of shipments and adherence to company policies and customer service standards.
Qualifications
 

• Proven experience in shipping, NVOCC, or logistics trade management, with a solid understanding of port-to-port operations and containerized freight.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including pricing, market analysis, and trade lane performance evaluation.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, agencies, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in using MS Office and relevant logistics or ERP systems to prepare reports, forecasts, and business analyses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Karāchi, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in regional trade lanes and familiarity with shipping regulations, documentation, and compliance requirements preferred.
