Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Taxation Officer (male/female) role based in Karachi who will manage day-to-day tax compliance, including preparation, review, and filing of tax returns, withholding statements, and other statutory submissions. The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations, ensuring accurate tax calculations, and supporting internal and external audits related to taxation. The Taxation Officer will coordinate with finance, accounts, and operations teams to address tax-related queries, reconcile tax ledgers, and assist in tax planning within regulatory guidelines. The position also requires maintaining organized tax records, responding to tax authority notices, and contributing to process improvements for efficient tax administration.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of local taxation laws, rules, and regulations, including corporate, sales, and withholding taxes.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation of tax-related accounts.
  • Ability to prepare and review tax returns, statements, and documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using accounting and ERP software (particularly MS Dynamic AX), as well as spreadsheets and other office productivity tools.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills for interpreting financial and tax data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional tax or accounting certification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a taxation or finance role within distribution, pharmaceuticals, or a related industry is preferred.
