The Senior Manager / Unit Head – Remittance & Trade is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing and scaling the Bank’s Remittance and Trade business verticals from the ground up. This role requires a unique "builder" mindset: you will be the primary front-office interface for Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) and trade clients, driving the transition from traditional paper-based trade to a fully digitized, Shariah-compliant ecosystem. You will lead the charge in identifying digital corridors, structuring innovative remittance products, and ensuring all operations meet the highest standards of regulatory and Shariah governance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Remittance & Partnership Management

  • Network Expansion: Identify, negotiate, and onboard international and local MTOs for both inward and outward remittance partnerships.
  • Digital Corridors: Develop high-velocity revenue models and transaction flows tailored for digital-first remittance.
  • Product Launch: Structure and launch retail and corporate remittance products that align with SBP and Shariah guidelines.

2. Trade Finance & Business Development

  • Front-Office Leadership: Spearhead trade finance operations, including imports, exports, guarantees, and documentary collections.
  • Client Acquisition: Develop and execute marketing strategies to acquire Corporate, SME, and Digital-native trade clients.
  • E-Trade Integration: Collaborate with Technology and Operations to digitize trade flows and integrate seamless e-Trade platforms.

3. Governance & Regulatory Liaison

  • Regulatory Interface: Lead discussions with SBP, SECP, and the Ministry of Commerce for product and remittance approvals.
  • Internal Alignment: Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Shariah teams to ensure all contract drafting and transaction structures are robust.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare performance MIS and strategic updates for ALCO, the Board, and the Executive Risk Management Committee (ERMC).

Job Requirements

  • Academic Background: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics. Professional trade certifications (e.g., CDCS, CITF) are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in Trade Finance and Remittances, with a strong preference for candidates from Islamic or Digital Banking backgrounds.
  • Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of SBP remittance frameworks, trade finance operations, and AML/CFT/KYC compliance.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team while managing high-stakes stakeholder relationships.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a focus on building scalable, digital-first solutions.
