Senior Flutter & Firebase Architect (EdTech Platform – Stabilization & Security)

About Skyen Solutions: Skyen Solutions is an EdTech startup building AI-powered learning tools for students. We are at a critical stabilization phase, transitioning from a prototype-level implementation to a secure, scalable, production-grade platform.

This role is not a greenfield build. It is a technical rescue and architectural leadership role.

Role Context (Important – Please Read)

We have an existing Flutter codebase with:

• Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions)
• In-app subscriptions
• AI-powered content generation (OpenAI / Gemini)
• A junior developer already onboard

The current system works functionally but requires:

• Architectural cleanup
• Security hardening
• Server-side enforcement
• Proper subscription & AI cost control

If you are not comfortable owning messy code and fixing it properly, this role is not a fit.

Required Expertise (Non-Negotiable)

• 3+ years professional Flutter experience
• Deep understanding of Firebase architecture
• Auth
• Firestore (rules, indexes, cost control)
• Cloud Functions (Node.js or TypeScript)
• Subscription systems
• Google Play Billing
• Apple StoreKit
• Server-side receipt validation
• Security-first mindset
• No client-side trust
• API key protection
• Rate limiting & abuse prevention
• Experience scaling AI-powered apps (OpenAI, Gemini, or similar)
• Ability to refactor large, undocumented codebases

Strongly Preferred

• Prior EdTech experience
• Experience with GDPR / COPPA-compliant systems
• Experience rescuing or refactoring legacy startups
• Experience working with junior developers

This Role Is NOT For

• Juniors or mid-level developers
• “Just Flutter UI” specialists
• Developers who avoid backend or security work
• Developers who prefer clean greenfield projects only
