Role Overview
The Publishing Executive supports the creation, production, and distribution of high-quality content by coordinating with authors and editors, managing timelines, proofreading, and optimizing digital workflows—all while ensuring quality and alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proofreading & Quality Assurance:
Perform final QA on manuscripts to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistency of tone and style (US/UK English), and readiness for print and eBook production.
2. Editing & Content Support:
Provide light-to-medium line editing, improve clarity and flow, reduce repetition, and implement editorial feedback while maintaining version control.
3. Formatting & Production:
Format manuscripts for print and eBook in line with publishing standards and prepare compliant, production-ready files.
4. Publishing Platform Management:
Prepare and manage metadata, book descriptions, keywords, categories (BISAC), pricing inputs, and conduct post-upload quality checks.
5. Audiobook & Workflow Coordination:
Support audiobook preparation and basic QA, while coordinating files, timelines, handoffs, and approvals across editorial, design, and publishing stages.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Literature, Publishing, Journalism, or relevant professional experience, supported by a portfolio (where applicable).
- Experience with publishing platforms, metadata management, and production processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with book publishing standards, including print, eBook, and basic audiobook workflows.
- Strong command of written English with demonstrated proofreading and editorial accuracy (US and/or UK style).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
