Role Overview
The Pre-Sales Data Centre Engineer will provide end-to-end pre-sales engineering support across data centre and power infrastructure domains. The role will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing customized technical solutions, developing proposals, and supporting the sales team throughout the pre-sales cycle.
The position will work closely with customers, OEMs, sales teams, engineering, and project implementation teams to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements and business objectives.

Responsibilities
Solution Design & Technical Pre-Sales
Understand customer technical and business requirements related to data centres and power infrastructure.
Design and propose customized solutions in collaboration with OEMs and internal engineering teams.
Develop solution architectures based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and business objectives.
Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical proposals, network diagrams, architectural plans, and solution documentation.
Support solution sizing, configuration, and technical costing activities.
Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, optimized, and aligned with customer requirements.
Customer Engagement
Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical requirement-gathering sessions.
Participate in customer meetings and deliver technical presentations and solution walkthroughs.
Understand customer pain points and translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
Address technical queries and objections during the sales cycle.
Build strong working relationships with customers and key technical stakeholders.
Sales & Tender Support
Support the sales team with technical inputs for RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and customer proposals.
Prepare technical responses, solution designs, BOMs, compliance documents, and other pre-sales documentation.
Work with the sales team to position solutions based on customer needs and value.
Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for technical differentiation.
Assist in preparing business cases, ROI assessments, and value propositions for proposed solutions.
OEM & Internal Coordination
Coordinate with OEMs and technology partners to validate solutions, specifications, pricing, and technical requirements.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project implementation teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
Support knowledge transfer to project implementation teams following successful solution closure.
Ensure alignment between proposed solutions and implementation requirements to enable smooth project delivery.
Technology & Market Development
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data centres, IoT protocols, power systems, and related infrastructure.
Develop awareness of new products, solutions, and technologies offered by OEMs and technology partners.
Evaluate technology developments and identify opportunities to enhance ENA's solution portfolio.
Maintain knowledge of relevant data centre standards and industry best practices.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency in solution sizing, configuration, and pricing tools.
Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure and power systems.
Working knowledge of power backup systems and related infrastructure.
Hands-on understanding of data centre standards, including TIA-942 and Uptime Institute standards.
Strong technical proposal development and documentation skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other relevant documentation tools.
Understanding of energy infrastructure, IoT, and smart devices is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering is preferred.
Relevant Data Centre Design certifications such as CDCP / CDCS are highly desirable.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, preferably involving data centre and power infrastructure solutions.
Proven experience in customer-facing solution design and technical proposal development.
Experience supporting RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and solution-based sales processes.
Familiarity with energy infrastructure, power systems, smart devices, and emerging technology solutions.
