Production Manager - Electric Bike Assembly

Industry: Electric Vehicles / E-Bike Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead our electric bike assembly operations. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing the entire assembly line to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while ensuring workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

Plan daily, weekly and monthly production schedules to meet sales and delivery targets

Oversee the full electric bike assembly process: frame, motor fitting, battery installation, controller/wiring, brakes, and final QC.

Monitor line efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and improve output per shift.

Ensure BOM (Bill of Material) adherence and minimize material wastage.

Quality & Compliance

Implement and enforce QC checks at each stage of assembly.

Ensure all bikes meet safety standards, wiring protocols, and battery handling SOPs

Maintain records for traceability, defects, and rework

Coordinate with QA team for final testing and road test approval

Team & Inventory Management

Lead, train, and supervise assembly technicians and line supervisors.

Assign tasks, monitor performance, and drive accountability.

Coordinate with Inventory/Warehouse for parts availability: motors, controllers, batteries, frames, tires.

Control production costs and report variances

Safety & Process Improvement

Enforce 5S, workplace safety, and PPE compliance in the assembly area.

Handle lithium-ion battery safety protocols and ESD precautions.

Drive continuous improvement: Kaizen, line balancing, and cycle time reduction

Requirements

Education: Diploma/B.E in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred

Experience: 3-5 years in production management. Experience in automotive, 2-wheeler, or EV assembly is a strong plus

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of e-bike components - BLDC motor, controller, BMS, lithium battery packs, wiring harness

Skills:

Production planning & ERP/MRP exposure

Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and QC tools

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Basic MS Excel for production reporting

Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setup and meet tight deadlines
