Welding Piping Inspector

• Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
• Duration: Long assignment

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection of piping fabrication, erection, and installation activities.
• Verify compliance with specifications, approved drawings, ASME codes, and project procedures.
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
• Conduct fit-up, joint preparation, dimensional, and visual weld inspections.
• Witness NDT activities and review reports.
• Verify PWHT, hardness testing, PMI, ferrite testing, and hydrotest activities.
• Ensure piping supports, alignment, slope, and routing meet requirements.
• Review material traceability and MTCs.
• Raise NCRs and prepare inspection reports.
• Participate in client inspections and completion walk-downs.

Common Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with specifications, project ITPs, and approved procedures.
• Verify work against approved IFC drawings and method statements.
• Witness hold, witness, and surveillance inspection points.
• Maintain inspection records and QA/QC documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with representatives, consultants, and EPC contractors.
• Raise and follow up NCRs, Site Observation Reports (SORs), and punch items.
• Ensure all inspection and testing equipment has valid calibration.
• Support Mechanical Completion (MC), Pre-Commissioning, and Final Handover.
• Promote compliance with HSE requirements during inspection activities
• Stay up to date with industry developments, regulatory requirements, and relevant management system standards to ensure technical excellence.
• Support the continuous improvement and development of LRQA's audit and assurance services through the sharing of expertise and market insights.
• Travel to client sites across the country to conduct audits across a wide range of industries and business environments.
• Represent LRQA professionally, acting as an ambassador for the organization and delivering an exceptional client experience.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience with Bachelors OR 10+ of experience with diploma
• CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector or AWS CWI
• ASNT NDT Level II (VT mandatory; PT/MT/UT/RT preferred)
• Knowledge of ASME Section V, VIII, IX, B31.3
• Familiarity with Specifications and ITPs
• Preparedness to travel when necessary to visit locations abroad
• Analytic insight and proactive attitude
• Communicative and social skills
