Virtual Classroom Teacher

MetEd is seeking a dedicated Virtual Classroom Teacher to deliver engaging and effective online lessons to students from diverse backgrounds. This role involves creating interactive and well-structured lesson plans, utilizing multimedia content, and leveraging Learning Management Systems to facilitate student learning. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelors degree in Education or a relevant subject and has prior experience in both online and classroom teaching environments. Strong communication skills, a reliable internet connection, and proficiency with online teaching tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, and digital whiteboards are essential. The teacher will work independently, providing clear explanations and maintaining a professional and patient approach while fostering an inclusive virtual learning space. This position requires commitment to following a structured curriculum and lesson plans aligned with student needs, including familiarity with the Australian curriculum as an advantage. The teacher must be punctual, responsible, and skilled in classroom management to support student engagement and progression effectively. There is no team management responsibility in this role, allowing the teacher to focus primarily on student-centered instruction and curriculum delivery.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver effective virtual lessons that align with the established curriculum and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Engage students using interactive teaching methods and multimedia content to enhance understanding and retention.
Utilize Learning Management Systems and other online teaching tools to monitor student progress, assign tasks, and provide timely feedback.
Maintain clear and patient communication while explaining concepts to ensure students grasp the subject matter thoroughly.
Create and manage a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and cultural backgrounds of international students.
Ensure punctuality and professionalism in all teaching activities, maintaining a reliable and distraction-free online environment.
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills to effectively moderate discussions, address disruptions, and maintain focus during virtual sessions.
Collaborate with curriculum developers and education specialists to update and improve teaching materials and instructional methods.
Continuously evaluate and adjust lesson plans based on student feedback and assessment results to maximize learning outcomes.
Stay current with developments in virtual teaching technologies and educational best practices to continually improve instructional delivery.
Support students with additional learning needs by providing extra resources or one-on-one assistance as appropriate.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance for reporting and assessment purposes.
Follow organizational guidelines and policies to ensure compliance with educational standards and data security requirements.
