Video Content Specialist

The Video Content Specialist will be responsible for capturing, producing, and editing engaging video content for TCF’s digital and social media platforms. The role requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable working both behind the camera and in the edit suite, and who can independently plan, shoot, edit, and deliver content when required.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of visual storytelling, social media content, filming techniques, and video editing, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the wider Creative, Digital, and Content teams.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of visual storytelling, social media content, filming techniques, and video editing, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the wider Creative, Digital, and Content teams.

• Visit assigned TCF schools every month to capture video content, student and teacher stories, school activities, and other relevant material.
• Independently plan and execute video shoots, including shot selection, framing, camera operation, basic lighting, and audio recording.
• Coordinate with school administration and relevant staff to schedule visits, secure necessary permissions, identify stories, and ensure smooth execution of shoots.
• Identify and capture engaging, authentic, and visually compelling stories from students, teachers, alumni, school staff, and communities.
• Produce high-quality videos, reels, short-form content, and social media assets tailored for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant channels.
• Edit video content independently, including selecting and organizing footage, storytelling, pacing, transitions, subtitles/captions, music, sound design, basic colour correction, and audio syncing.
• Adapt content into platform-specific formats, aspect ratios, durations, and styles while maintaining TCF’s brand and visual standards.
• Stay updated on social media trends, content formats, editing techniques, platform features, and best practices relevant to video and digital content.
• Develop multiple content variations from existing footage where appropriate, maximizing the use and lifespan of material captured during school visits.
• Work closely with the Digital and Content teams to understand content objectives, briefs, audiences, timelines, and deliverables.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with relevant team members regarding shoot schedules, progress, challenges, deadlines, and content requirements.
• Manage and organize video footage and project files effectively, ensuring that assets are properly labelled, stored, and accessible for future use.
• Ensure all required equipment is checked and prepared before shoots and properly packed, returned, and stored after each assignment.
• Provide filming and editing support for campaigns, events, school stories, digital content, internal communications, and other organizational requirements as needed.
• Support the wider Creative team on video productions and assist with shoots requiring additional filming, editing, or production support.
• Ensure all content is produced in accordance with TCF’s brand guidelines, safeguarding requirements, and ethical standards for working with children and communities.

Required SkillsVideography, Video editing, Understanding of reels, Basic photography.

Knowledge of design and animation is a plus.

Bachelors / Diploma

Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of experience required.
