UI/UX Designer

This is a unique opportunity to become an integral member of a startup health-tech company. We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive, and highly functional product experiences. You will play a key role in shaping how our users interact with our platform and assisting in designing workflows that are simple, efficient, and clinically meaningful.

Care1 is a revenue-generating medical AI and technology company that is changing the way eye doctors think about patient care.

Our cloud-based software connects eye doctors (ophthalmologists and optometrists) allowing them to screen, diagnose, and treat patients remotely. We also implement deep learning AI models for the automatic detection and treatment of complex eyecare diseases. Over the past decade we have grown Care1 to integrate with over 300 eye doctors across Canada, who have used our platform to deliver care to over 150,000 patients. This makes the Care1 network one of the largest tele-eyecare networks worldwide.

Our in-house software engineering team has also developed the world’s most advanced deep learning artificially intelligent software for medical eye care. Our vision is to become the leading eyecare AI platform in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the product team with designing end-to-end product experiences across the Care1 platform
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs in Figma
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure clean, scalable implementation
• Contribute to and evolve Care1’s design system (aligned with Ant Design)
• Assist in gathering and implementing user feedback
• ​​Graphic Design Support (Occasional):
• Design or refine marketing and sales materials (e.g., one-pagers, handouts, presentations)
• Support visual consistency across brand assets and product UI
• Assist with lightweight assets for website or social content when needed

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design
• Proficiency in Figma
• Strong attention to detail and clarity in layout, and interactions
• Comfortable working closely with the product team and understanding constraints
• Ability to simplify complex, multi-step processes into intuitive flows
• Comfortable with graphic design
