SQL Programmer/Developer

We are looking for a skilled SQL Programmer/Database Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support various business applications and reporting needs. This role requires designing and maintaining relational databases with a strong focus on data integrity, security, and performance. The position involves close collaboration with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to troubleshoot database issues, enhance query efficiency, and support reporting, analytics, and application development initiatives. The role offers a hybrid remote work arrangement based in Karachi.

Key Responsibilities

- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to fulfill application and reporting requirements.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient relational database structures.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal database performance through continuous monitoring and tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Perform routine database backups, maintenance, and recovery procedures to protect data assets.
- Provide accurate and timely data extraction and transformation to support reporting and analytics teams.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as an SQL Programmer or Database Developer with a strong emphasis on writing and optimizing SQL code.
- Proficiency in SQL on one or more major database platforms such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Solid understanding of relational database design principles and normalization techniques.
- Experience with database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues effectively.
