Senior Fashion Designer – Kids & Women's Wear

Sprinkles, a dynamic fashion brand based in Karachi, specializes in trendy, stylish, and comfortable clothing for kids, teens, and women. We are seeking a Senior Fashion Designer with a minimum of five years of relevant experience who can independently manage the entire design and product development process. This full-time, on-site role demands a hands-on professional with strong design skills, technical garment knowledge, and the ability to collaborate directly with master cutters, tailors, embroidery teams, fabric suppliers, and production vendors to deliver high-quality collections from concept to production-ready samples.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Collection Development: Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, seasonal colors, fabrics, and silhouettes, including insights from international fashion brands. Develop seasonal collections for kids, teens, and women's wear by creating mood boards, design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications. Select appropriate fabrics, prints, trims, embellishments, and accessories to ensure designs are commercially viable and aligned with the Sprinkles brand identity and target market.

Sampling & Product Development: Oversee the complete sampling process, working closely with master cutters, pattern makers, and tailors to translate designs into finished garments. Provide detailed stitching instructions, measurements, construction details, and finishing requirements. Conduct fittings, identify issues, and manage alterations to ensure proper sizing, fit, garment construction, and finishing across different age groups. Finalize production-ready samples, size charts, and technical specifications.

Vendor & Production Coordination: Independently coordinate with fabric suppliers, printing units, embroidery vendors, stitching units, and other production partners. Source and negotiate fabrics, trims, accessories, and sampling materials. Brief vendors and master cutters on design requirements, measurements, and quality expectations. Monitor sampling and production timelines to ensure timely deliveries and resolve technical issues related to stitching, patterns, fabrics, and garment construction. Ensure approved designs are accurately replicated during bulk production.

Quality Control & Cost Management: Inspect samples for stitching quality, fit, finishing, fabric consistency, and overall appearance. Maintain quality standards from sampling through production handover. Work on fabric consumption, garment costing, and cost-effective design solutions. Minimize sampling revisions, fabric wastage, and production errors while ensuring designs remain practical for bulk manufacturing without compromising quality.

Team & Workflow Management: Manage and supervise sampling masters, tailors, and other development resources. Maintain sampling schedules, design records, measurement charts, and approval documentation. Coordinate with management, merchandising, and production teams. Track multiple designs simultaneously and ensure collections are completed within deadlines. Take full ownership of assigned collections from concept development to production handover.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fashion design, preferably in kidswear, eastern ready-to-wear, or women's fashion.
- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, cutting, stitching, and finishing.
- Proven experience working directly with master cutters, tailors, and production vendors.
- Ability to independently develop and finalize samples.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, prints, embroidery, trims, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience developing seasonal collections and managing multiple designs.
- Good understanding of garment costing, fabric consumption, and production feasibility.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other design software is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

The ideal candidate is not limited to sketching or conceptual design but is equally comfortable working on the sampling floor. This includes communicating effectively with masters and vendors, correcting patterns and fittings, resolving production challenges, and taking complete ownership of garment development.

Salary: PKR 80,000 - 100,000 per month
