Develop and manage local payment partnerships in Pakistan, including e-wallets, banks, and payment service providers, driving the full lifecycle from initial outreach and negotiation to onboarding and go-live.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable PSPs, wallets, and banking partners to build stable payment channels, including account setup and fund flow arrangements.
Collaborate with product and technical teams to support payment API integrations and channel onboarding, ensuring smooth implementation and stable operations.
Support merchant onboarding and business expansion, with an understanding of mainstream payment use cases (e-commerce, digital content, etc.) as well as high-risk merchant segments. Conduct basic risk assessment where necessary.
Work closely with compliance and legal teams to support payment-related licensing processes (e.g., EMI, PSP/PSO), including documentation, communication with regulators, and progress tracking.
Monitor market trends and regulatory developments, providing insights and recommendations on payment strategy and channel optimization.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in payments, fintech, telecom, or related industries in Pakistan. Experience with e-wallets or payment companies is preferred.
Solid understanding of the local payment ecosystem (e.g., wallets, bank transfers, real-time payments), with experience in channel development or partnership management.
Strong business development and negotiation skills, with the ability to independently drive partnerships from initiation to contract signing.
Familiarity with payment API integration processes; experience participating in payment integration or channel onboarding projects is a plus (no deep technical expertise required).
Basic understanding of high-risk merchants and awareness of compliance and risk considerations.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with product, tech, risk, and compliance teams.
Fluent in English and Urdu (both required for business communication).
Willingness to travel for partner meetings; existing local network is a plus.
