Head of Security - FinTech / Remote / APAC

Our client, a rapidly scaling FinTech is seeking a Head of Security to lead an end‑to‑end information security function. This is a strategic, hands‑on leadership role (80% programme leadership, 20% technical depth) responsible for building and running a modern, risk‑based security programme across cloud infrastructure, secure SDLC, incident response, and compliance.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, DevOps, and company leadership to embed security into every layer of the business, while leading a growing team of security professionals. This role reports directly to the CTO.

What you’ll lead

• Company‑wide security strategy, governance, and risk management
• Cloud security architecture and secure infrastructure practices
• Security incident response and investigations
• Secure SDLC, code scanning, dependency checks, and vulnerability management
• Implementation and oversight of SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and other core security technologies
• Security assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Training and awareness programmes across technical and non‑technical teams

What you bring

• 7+ years in cybersecurity, including 3+ years in a leadership or team‑lead role
• Recent history working within Crypto, FinTech, PayTech, Banking or similar.
• Prior experience working within the APAC region.
• Strong grounding in risk management and real‑world security programme execution
• Hands‑on cloud security experience (architecture, reviews, pipelines)
• Proven experience leading incident response
• Solid understanding of SIEM, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring tools
• Security certifications are a plus
