The role involves processing daily transactions promptly while ensuring strict adherence to internal procedures and operational controls to manage risk effectively. The incumbent will be responsible for timely responses to customer requests and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily team operations to maximize productivity and deliver high-quality services across various banking products, aiming to enhance profitability.
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of Bank Guarantees, IATA, and Advising transactions in compliance with departmental operating instructions, service level agreements, sanction policies, vessel check policies, and relevant local and international regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date comments on pending transactions within the tracking system.
- Execute all tasks and assignments delegated by the Team Leader.
- Achieve set productivity targets including efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times within the area of responsibility.
- Promote full compliance with all company and group rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, and codes of conduct.
- Report suspicious transactions and red-flag alerts to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) approvers.
- Act as Key Custodian, managing fire-resistant cabinets or vaults according to policy, ensuring proper key handover and registration.
- Motivate and monitor team morale to maintain optimal productivity and service standards.
- Train team members to enhance their knowledge and ability to handle customer queries effectively.
- Update the Import Departmental Operating Instructions (DOI) with any changes related to processes, systems, or policies.
- Maintain operational control to ensure adherence to bank policies and guidelines by team members.
- Handle complex transactions escalated for risk control or directed by the Trade Services unit.
- Collaborate with the Unit Head to update internal operating procedures and control standards in response to regulatory changes.
- Ensure team members are well-versed in group policies, especially regarding trade transactions involving sanctioned countries.
- Address audit findings promptly, ensuring timely closure and preventing recurrence of issues.
- Comply with the Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy, reporting suspicious transactions and conducting AML reviews for complex cases.
- Mitigate operational risks by attending AML programs and following relevant checklists and procedures.
- Manage ITRS and C-ITRS reporting responsibilities.
- Oversee Export Overdue reporting (V20/V21).
- Prepare responses to regulatory show cause notices and address ad hoc regulatory queries.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the export cycle, from financial institution initiation to bill lodgement and payment settlement.
- Submit weekly withholding tax and prepare other export regulatory returns as required.

- Proven experience in banking operations with a focus on trade services and transaction processing.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
- Familiarity with AML policies, sanctions regulations, and audit processes.
- Ability to manage and motivate teams, ensuring productivity and adherence to service standards.
- Excellent communication and training skills to support team development.
- Competence in handling complex transactions and regulatory reporting.
