KUTIYANA MEMON HOSPITAL IS LOOKING FOR A DENTAL ASSISTANT

Department: Dental & Maxillofacial Surgery
Position: Dental Assistant

Job Purpose

To provide effective chair-side assistance to the dentist, ensure proper preparation and sterilization of dental instruments and materials, assist in patient care, and support the dental team in providing safe, efficient, and quality dental services in accordance with hospital protocols and infection-control standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the dental treatment room before and after patient procedures.
• Sterilize, arrange, and assist with dental instruments during procedures.
• Assist the dentist during treatment by passing instruments, providing suction, and preparing dental materials.
• Select, mix, and prepare dental materials as required.
• Perform and develop dental radiographs (PA X-rays) in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Assist with patient care, including basic oral hygiene, plaque-control, and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain proper infection prevention, control, and sterilization standards.
• Operate and maintain dental equipment and report any malfunction or repair requirements.
• Maintain and update inventory of dental instruments, materials, and supplies.
• Ensure the availability, cleanliness, and proper handling of dental instruments and materials.
• Support the dental team in maintaining smooth and efficient clinical operations.
• Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Intermediate with a Diploma in Dental Assistant from a recognized Provincial Medical Faculty or relevant institution.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Candidates with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene may be given preference.
• Good knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and basic dental procedures.
• Basic knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Good communication and patient-handling skills.
