ABOUT US

Hussain Tareen Productions is the creative house behind Hussain Tareen's work across film, YouTube, Instagram and The Tareen clothing brand. We are building a small, elite team to create original, cinematic content with class, decency, humour and craft, work that is new for Pakistan.

THE ROLE

You are the creative leader of the studio. You decide what we make, how it looks and sounds, and whether it is good enough to publish. You will generate the ideas, shape them into finished concepts, and lead a team of writers, directors, editors and designers to deliver them. You work directly with Hussain Tareen.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Ideas and concepts

- Generate and pitch original ideas every week across all formats: short films, scripted sketches, reels, YouTube series, challenges, interviews, behind-the-scenes content and campaign ideas.

- Develop each idea into a clear concept: the hook, the story, the tone, the visual style and how it will be shot.

- Create recurring formats and series that give the channels a recognisable identity.

- Design challenge and interactive ideas that are fun, clean and shareable, with nothing crude or cheap.

- Plan how one idea spreads across Instagram, YouTube and TikTok: teaser, main piece and cut-downs.

Brand and direction

- Own the creative vision, voice and visual system for Hussain's content, and keep every account and The Tareen aligned as one brand.

- Write and maintain the brand guide: tone of voice, colour, typography, templates, grade and sound.

- Direct the look and feel of The Tareen clothing brand's campaigns, lookbooks and launch films with the design team.

- Keep wardrobe, sets and styling consistent with the brand.

Leading the team

- Lead the Head Writer, Director and Cinematographer, Lead Editor and Brand Designer.

- Run the weekly creative meeting and set the content calendar.

- Review scripts before shooting and cuts before publishing. You give the final creative approval, together with Hussain.

- Give clear, specific feedback that raises the standard of the team's work.

On set and in production

- Direct creative decisions on shoot days: performance, framing, pace and tone.

- Plan shoots so one day produces many pieces.

- Keep projects on schedule and on budget.

Culture and results

- Track what works through retention, saves, shares and audience comments, and use it to improve the next piece.

- Stay ahead of Pakistani and global creative culture, and bring in references without copying them.

- Protect the brand standard: every piece must be decent, well made and unmistakably ours.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 5+ years in creative direction, content creation, advertising, film or digital video.

- A strong portfolio of concepts you created, with clear results where possible.

- Proven ability to turn a rough idea into a finished, well-executed piece.

- Excellent understanding of Pakistani audiences, humour and culture.

- Fluent in Urdu and English, with strong writing and storytelling skills.

- Deep knowledge of how Instagram, YouTube and TikTok work.

- Leadership experience: you can manage a team and give honest, useful feedback.

- Good visual taste, and working knowledge of editing and design tools such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Figma, enough to guide the team.

- A strong sense of what is classy and what is cheap, and the discipline to choose classy every time.

- Must be based in Karachi and able to work on-site full-time.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience directing scripted comedy or short films.

- Experience with fashion, lifestyle or clothing brand campaigns.

- Experience working with well-known creators or public figures.
