Role Description This is a full-time, on-site College Counselor role based at Cedar College’s DHA & PECHS Campuses in Karāchi. The College Counselor will support A Level students through the entire college admissions process, including researching suitable institutions, advising on course and major selection, and guiding students in building strong academic and extracurricular profiles. The role involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, group workshops, and information sessions for students and families on application requirements, timelines, and financial aid options. The College Counselor will help students prepare application materials such as resumes, essays, and personal statements, and coordinate with teachers for recommendation letters. The role also includes maintaining detailed student records, staying current with global higher education trends, and collaborating with faculty and administrators to strengthen Cedar’s college guidance program.


 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in college counseling and working with high school students on academic and career planning.
  • Experience supporting students with college applications, including guidance on essays, resumes, and recommendation strategies.
  • Ability to provide student counseling focused on personal development, decision-making, and transition to higher education.
  • Knowledge of student financial aid options, scholarships, and funding processes for local and international institutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse students and families.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in counseling are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a school counseling or college advising role, preferably in an A Level or similar academic environment.
  • Organizational skills for managing multiple students’ timelines, documentation, and application deadlines.
  • Comfort with using technology and digital tools for research, record keeping, and student communication.
