Role Description The Sr. Electrical Technician Production is a full-time, on-site role based in the Karachi Division. Responsibilities include performing electrical maintenance on production equipment, supporting installation and commissioning of power generation systems, and ensuring safe and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, executing planned preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement in production processes. The technician will collaborate with engineers and production teams, maintain accurate maintenance records, and follow safety and quality standards aligned with Synergy’s policies. The position may require occasional support during extended hours to meet production targets or urgent service needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong practical skills in Electrical Maintenance and handling Electrical Equipment in industrial or power generation environments.
  • Solid understanding of Electricity principles and basic Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to production and power systems.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Experience in generator systems, switchgear, control panels, and related power generation equipment is highly beneficial.
  • Manufacture, assemble, wire, and test Low Voltage (LT/LV) Electrical Control and Power Panels.
  • Build and assemble MCC Panels, Bus Coupler Panels, ATS Panels, PFI Panels, AMF Panels, Distribution Boards (DBs), Control Panels, and Power Panels.
  • Install and wire electrical components including ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs, Contactors, Overload Relays, Timers, Control Relays, CTs, PTs, Meters, Indicator Lamps, Push Buttons, Selectors, Terminal Blocks, VFDs, and Soft Starters.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Perform panel wiring, cable dressing, ferruling, gland installation, busbar fabrication, busbar sleeving, and panel assembly.
  • Carry out continuity, insulation resistance, functional, and routine testing before dispatch.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults during panel assembly, testing, and commissioning.
  • Prepare wiring schedules, test reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure all panels are manufactured according to approved drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.
  • Follow electrical safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Coordinate with the Design, QA/QC, and Production teams to ensure timely project completion.
  • Guide and support junior technicians during manufacturing and testing activities.

Requirements

  • DAE (Electrical) or equivalent qualification.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in electrical control and power panel manufacturing.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing LT/LV Panels, MCC Panels, Bus Coupler Panels, ATS Panels, AMF Panels, PFI Panels, Distribution Boards, Control Panels, and Power Panels.
  • Good knowledge of switchgear assembly, including ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs, Contactors, Relays, CTs, PTs, VFDs, and Soft Starters.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, SLDs, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience in busbar fabrication, panel wiring, cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
