Senior Printed Circuit Board Designer

IOTIZE (SMC-Private) Limited | Hybrid, Karachi, Pakistan | Project-based, leading to full-time

We are looking for an experienced PCB Designer to join our hardware engineering team and lead the design of printed circuit boards for our Industrial IoT product line, spanning monitoring, automation, and sensor systems deployed across manufacturing, energy, marine, healthcare, and smart mobility sectors.

This is a project-based engagement to start, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time role based on performance and fit.

Our work spans embedded systems, firmware, and connected hardware for clients across Pakistan and internationally.

What you'll do

• Design multi-layer PCBs for industrial-grade IoT devices, sensor nodes, and embedded systems, from schematic capture through layout and final production files
• Design around STM32 and ESP32 microcontroller platforms, working closely with embedded firmware and product teams
• Select components and develop schematics based on system requirements
• Perform signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal considerations for boards operating in demanding industrial, marine, and outdoor environments
• Prepare Gerber files, BOMs, and documentation for fabrication and assembly with local and international manufacturers
• Support bring-up, debugging, and testing of prototype boards alongside firmware engineers
• Ensure designs meet relevant EMI/EMC, safety, and environmental durability standards for industrial deployment
• Manage design revisions and maintain version-controlled documentation across product iterations
• Collaborate with mechanical/enclosure design to ensure form-fit compatibility

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of hands-on PCB design experience, with a portfolio of shipped or production-ready boards
• Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, or EasyEDA)
• Hands-on experience designing boards around STM32 and/or ESP32 microcontrollers
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485)
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and working directly with PCB fabrication houses
• Experience with industrial or ruggedized hardware design is highly valued
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on end-to-end board design
