Job Description

UK based: Autos Assess Ltd, a growing automotive engineering firm based in the United Kingdom, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specialising in automotive engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on the design, development, and integration of automotive systems, with particular emphasis on chassis and suspension components. This role requires a strong foundation in vehicle dynamics, materials engineering, and quality control processes. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that automotive systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards, applying advanced computer-aided design tools and data analysis techniques to optimize designs and workflows. The Mechanical Engineer will also engage in automotive data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with industry specifications. While this position does not include team management responsibilities, it requires effective communication skills in English, particularly in reading and writing, to maintain clear documentation and collaboration. The engineer will contribute to project management efforts, coordinating with internal stakeholders to track project progress and deliverables for various automotive engineering projects. Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive chassis and suspension systems, ensuring performance and safety standards are met.
- Apply vehicle dynamics principles to optimize vehicle handling and stability.
- Conduct materials engineering assessments to select appropriate materials for automotive components.
- Implement quality control and assurance procedures throughout the design and production phases.
- Integrate automotive systems to ensure seamless functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) tools to create detailed engineering models and drawings.
- Perform automotive data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables effectively.
- Conduct assessments and audits using industry tools like Audatex to evaluate vehicle damage and repair costs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing automotive system performance and recommending enhancements.
