About the Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Automation & Growth Ops Specialist / Manager to execute and maintain our marketing journeys across email, CRM, and sales touchpoints.

You’ll work closely with the founder/growth lead to:

  • strategize on the use of our marketing automation framework
  • operationalize lifecycle journeys
  • enforce exclusions and frequency caps
  • maintain clean automation logic
  • support both marketing and sales teams

Our current set up:

  • BigQuery
  • Windmill (Workflow automation / Data ingestion)
  • n8n (Non-technical user workflow automation)
  • Hubspot (CRM only)
  • Claude Code / Cursor

What You’ll Own

Marketing Journey Execution

  • Build and maintain always-on marketing journeys (onboarding, nurture, re-engagement)
  • Ensure only one journey runs per contact at any time
  • Apply global frequency caps and suppression rules
  • Coordinate handoffs between marketing and sales journeys
  • Help building end to end user journeys, from data collection, workflows, outreaches, etc.

Automation Operations

  • Implement journey triggers using n8n/Windmill
  • Manage enrollment logic based on BigQuery segments
  • Monitor automation health (errors, overlaps, missed sends)
  • Document and improve existing workflows

Data-Driven Segmentation

  • Use pre-built BigQuery tables/views to:
  • strategize on and create user segments
  • select eligible contacts
  • apply exclusions
  • validate audience sizes
  • Spot issues in segmentation before they reach production

Cross-Team Enablement

  • Work with content team on email/marketing content and templates
  • Coordinate with sales on suppression rules and handoffs
  • Ensure journeys respect consent, opt-outs, and CRM state
  • Work with project manager and engineering team to implement required improvements

Quality & Safety

  • Prevent duplicate or excessive messaging
  • Maintain clean logs of sends and journey state
  • Escalate edge cases instead of “quick fixes”

Required Skills

Must-Have

  • Hands-on experience with marketing (e.g. HubSpot, Mautic, Customer.io, Marketo, Salesforce, etc.) or workflow automation tools (e.g. n8n, windmill, or even Apache Ariflow, etc.)
  • Comfortable reading and modifying SQL (BigQuery-style SQL preferred)
  • Experience implementing marketing automation journeys
  • Strong operational and growth mindset
  • Ability to work with engineers/data teams without hand-holding

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with n8n, Windmill, or similar workflow tools
  • Experience with ETL/ELT (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks)
  • B2B services or SaaS background
  • Understanding of CRM lifecycle stages
  • Familiarity with consent / unsubscribe best practices
  • Experience with owning Email/Web or other marketing touch points
  • A strong understanding of how to collect and leverage first party data
  • Developer or engineering background. Or if you can vibe code.
  • Growth marketing experience
