Manager – New Product Development (NPD)

Job Purpose

Lead New Product Development activities from formulation design to successful technology transfer, ensuring timely commercialization of high-quality pharmaceutical products. Drive cross-functional collaboration, process optimization, and regulatory compliance while meeting local and international quality standards, including cGMP, PIC/S, WHO and ICH guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead formulation development, trial manufacturing, and technology transfer for new pharmaceutical products from development to commercial production.
• Plan, execute, and monitor NPD projects, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and launch milestones are achieved.
• Optimize formulations and manufacturing processes by evaluating critical process parameters (CPPs), critical quality attributes (CQAs), and troubleshooting trial batches.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, PIC/S, WHO, ICH, and regulatory requirements through accurate technical documentation, validation protocols, and change control management.
• Collaborate with QA, QC, Production, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Business Development to ensure seamless product commercialization.
• Conduct technical evaluations, literature reviews, competitor benchmarking, stability studies, and artwork/BOM reviews to support product lifecycle management.
• Lead and develop the NPD team while fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing or New Product Development, with hands-on exposure to formulation development, technology transfer, and project management.
• Pharm.D. (Master's degree will be an added advantage.)
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation development, cGMP, WHO, PIC/S, ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in technology transfer, process optimization, validation and scale-up activities.
• Excellent project management, planning, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to quality and compliance.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team management skills.
