Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad for an Expert YouTube Video Editor specializing in long-form documentary content. The editor will manage end-to-end post-production, including assembling raw footage, structuring narratives, refining story arcs, and delivering polished, platform-ready videos optimized for YouTube. Daily responsibilities include syncing audio and video, color correction and grading, sound design, adding motion graphics or subtitles, and ensuring consistent quality across all episodes. The role involves close collaboration with directors, producers, and scriptwriters to translate research and scripts into compelling visual stories that hold audience attention. The editor will also adapt content for YouTube best practices, such as hooks, pacing, thumbnails input, and chaptering, while meeting project timelines and maintaining organized project files.
Qualifications

 

• Strong video editing skills with expertise in Video Editing and Video Production for long-form documentary-style content.
• Experience creating and optimizing content specifically for YouTube, including understanding of YouTube algorithms, audience retention, and platform formats.
• Effective Communication skills to collaborate with creative, marketing, and production teams and to interpret feedback constructively.
• Marketing awareness, including basic knowledge of content positioning, audience engagement, and brand consistency across video assets.
• Proficiency in professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with color grading and audio mixing tools.
• Demonstrated ability to structure long-form narratives, with a strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual continuity.
• Strong organizational skills, including project file management, version control, and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience editing documentaries, YouTube channels, or similar long-form content; a portfolio or showreel is required.
• Relevant education in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field is a plus, though equivalent professional experience is also valued.
