Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Cinematic Book Trailer / Video Editing & VFX Artist at Epic Blend Studio. The professional in this role will collaborate with creative directors and writers to translate book concepts and scripts into cinematic visual narratives, including shot planning, storyboarding, and pacing. Day-to-day work includes editing raw footage, crafting compelling sequences, adding sound design elements, integrating music, and refining timing for maximum emotional impact. The role also involves designing and compositing visual effects, creating or integrating motion graphics and titles, and performing detailed color grading to achieve a cohesive, cinematic look. The artist will manage project files, follow brand and style guidelines, communicate progress proactively, and deliver final assets in required formats and resolutions within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
 

• Strong video creation skills, including Video Production and on-set or remote production coordination experience
• Expertise in Video Editing with a focus on cinematic pacing, narrative structure, and audio-visual storytelling
• Proficiency in Video Color Grading to establish consistent mood, style, and visual cohesion across shots
• Advanced Motion Graphics abilities for titles, transitions, lower thirds, and subtle visual enhancements
• Graphics skills for designing key visuals, frames, and supporting artwork that align with book and brand aesthetics
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or equivalent)
• Experience creating cinematic trailers, teasers, or short-form narrative videos; book or publishing experience is a plus
• Ability to interpret scripts and briefs, work independently in a remote environment, and meet deadlines reliably
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including openness to feedback and iterative revisions
• A portfolio or showreel demonstrating high-quality editing, VFX, color grading, and motion graphics work
